Our Privacy Promise
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your family's information stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to enable cloud features.
What Data JADEN Collects
JADEN only accesses data that is necessary to perform the tasks you request:
- Calendar events — titles, times, and locations (up to 30 may be sent per query)
- Shopping list items — the text you dictate for your lists
- Reminders and tasks — their titles and due times
- Contacts you mention — for call and message requests
- Diary entries you create in JADEN — stored locally in the app
Where Your Data Lives
By default, all data stays on your device. JADEN stores information locally in your phone's app-private storage, which is encrypted by the Android operating system at rest. Nothing is uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud synchronisation features.
When Intelligence is turned off, JADEN processes your commands entirely offline — no voice data or household content is sent to AI providers. Basic anonymised analytics (feature usage, app performance) still reach Firebase to help us improve the app. See Analytics and Crash Reporting above.
When Intelligence Is Enabled
If you enable Intelligence features (cloud AI processing), only the minimum necessary information is sent to our AI providers:
- Your voice query (transcribed text) — to understand what you're asking
- Basic context — like the current date/time — to give relevant answers
- Outstanding shopping item (if any)
- Family names and relations (including which members are children)
- Calendar event titles and locations for today and this week
We do not send: your phone's contacts, your messages, or any diary entry outside today and this week.
JADEN data (what was added, bought, or completed) remains on the device only, never transmitted, and can be cleared with Clear App Data.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
JADEN uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised usage data that helps us improve the app. This happens automatically and is not tied to your identity:
- Feature usage: Which features are used (e.g., "daily_briefing_opened", "shopping_item_added")
- Performance metrics: App startup time, voice recognition accuracy
- Engagement: Session length, screen views, daily active usage
We do not track: the actual content of your lists, messages, diary entries, or family names. Analytics events are category-level only.
Firebase Crashlytics collects anonymised crash logs to help us fix bugs. These are automatically deleted after 90 days.
You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings, though core app-usage analytics may still be collected as required by Google Play.
Data Retention
- Local data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete the app or clear data
- Cloud queries: Not stored by us. Provider logs are anonymised and deleted within 30 days
- Crash logs: Anonymised and auto-deleted after 90 days
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Export: Download all your data from Settings → Export My Data
- Delete: Clear all data from Settings → Clear App Data
- Disable Intelligence: Go fully offline at any time
- Uninstall: Removing the app deletes all local data
Third-Party Services
JADEN may use the following services when cloud features are enabled:
- Ollama Cloud / OpenRouter: For AI processing. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
- Google Play Services: For in-app billing. Subject to Google's privacy policy.

Changes to This Policy
